Recipe: Flapjacks

The first recipe every child learns. Soo delicious too.
Basically there are two types of flapjack eater. The first like theirs chewy and the latter (me included) prefer a bit of a crunch. Here's my recipe for the crunchier version. (For chewy ones drop the oven temp down to 150C)

Ingredients
  • 30g butter
  • 75g sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of golden syrup
  • 450g rolled oats
Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 190C.  Grease a baking tray, cut out baking parchment and line the tray.
  2. Melt the butter gently in a saucepan. Add the sugar and the syrup.
  3. Put the rolled oats into a large mixing bowl and then pour over the sweet butter mixture.
  4. Mix well and then press into the baking tray and  bake in the oven for 35 minutes.
Tip: When it comes out it should be golden on top. Put a clean cloth over the top and leave to cool overnight. Then cut into squares the following morning.
