Beautiful Saxony

The top 5 highlights of my week-long visit. It really is a breathtakingly lovely area of Germany.

• Dresden Frauenkirche & the Zwinger Palace. Dresden rightfully deserves its reputation as being the "Florence of the Elbe".


• The Panometer. Imagine the view of Dresden in its golden era. The year is 1756, a few days before the Prussians will arrive to destroy much of the city. This stunning attraction makes you feel as if you are inside a Canaletto painting. A wonder.


• Sächsische Schweiz National Park - Bastei.


• Eierschecke - the most delicious egg custard cake. (I have a recipe.. and I'm going to use it!)
