Happy St Swithin's Day

St Swithin was an Anglo-Saxon Bishop of Winchester Cathedral who died c.862. Apparently he managed to get some miracle-working under his belt but today he is famous for predicting the weather.

St Swithin’s Day, if it does rain
Full forty days, it will remain
St Swithin’s Day, if it be fair
For forty days, t’will rain no more.
