My six year old son brought this home from school today and I am so proud of him. I think it deserves a proper frame and to go up on the living room wall. Don't you agree?
His way of drowing this sketch is very unusual for kids, even among those who can draw well (without knowing drawing techniques I mean). I've been drawing since around the age of 3, or at least since I was able to hold a pen. But, even if people said I was gifted about drawing, my cartoons weren't as well done as your son's at the same age. There were outstanding from usual kids cartoons, but my style remained a childish one, an it imporved as long as I grew up.
Here, this drawing doesn't look, in my humble opinion like a 6-year-old-boy sketch. If I had to guess, I would have bet on an age between 9 and 11. So, as a cartoonist myself, I'd say that he is gifted. Very well done boy, keep up the good job! *thumbs up!*
