Friday in Hebden Bridge
A beautiful Bank Holiday spent in Hebden Bridge starting with a relaxing 5km walk through National Trust woodland. Our first stop was Gibson Mill, a watermill built around 1800 to produce cotton cloth.
After passing the mill we continued through the forest absolutely teeming with life in the form of Hairy wood ants which were EVERYWHERE! We saw so many nests like these.
My highlight was bumping into a heron patiently waiting for his dinner.
At the end of the walk and devouring our picnic we drove into town and had a good look around. A very pretty place, and full of independent shops. I think we will certainly be be visiting again.
