New book: The company of liars
The year is 1348, the year the plague arrives on the shores of England. Camelot, a seller of fake holy relics decides the best course of action is to make his way north to escape from the Pestilence. Along the way he picks up other travellers and misfits until they make a company of nine: the Venetian musician Rodrigo, his pupil Jofre, the one-armed story teller Cygnus, the painter Osmund and his pregnant wife Adela, the conjurer Zophiel and the midwife Pleasance who travels with a remarkable rune-reading young girl, Narigorm. Together they set out trying to run away from the Plague.
