Out and about : Temple Newsam
Temple Newsam is a Tudor-Jacobean mansion set within a large estate just outside Leeds. The formal gardens were landcaped by Capability Brown in the 18th century.
It was the birthplace of Lord Darnley, husband of Mary Queen of Scots.
The estate is now managed by Leeds City Council and everyone can enjoy the grounds for free.
