Summer Solstice
The summer solstice occurs exactly when the Earth's and the moon's axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun, at its maximum of 23° 26'. This day has the longest period of daylight (as long as you aren't in the polar regions).
18000 revellers gathered around the prehistoric site in Wiltshire to witness today's sunrise.
