In the news : The Succession Act
There are big changes ahead for the monarchy. The first born child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will automatically inherit the throne no matter if they are a boy or a girl. Marrying a Roman Catholic would also be allowed for the first time.
But what would have happened if first born daughters had always been allowed to reign?
Let's take Queen Victoria as an example (queen from 1837-1901). Her first born was also a daughter (her name was also Victoria). She would have been Queen of the United Kingdom AND Empress of Germany as well as Queen of Prussia.
When she died just months after her mother in 1901, her son Kaiser Wilhelm would have been our king as well. Two devastating world wars would have been averted and we would all be driving brand new Audis and enjoying low levels of personal debt. Fancy that!

...and you would eat Schwarzbrot and Leberwurst for breakfast, stop for red traffic lights, love your car more than your wife and have absolutely no sense for humour.
