There is my sweetheart
There is my sweetheart down in the orchard,

Beautiful song! Actually, this is the first time I hear Welsh words! And I can tell that it sounds very charming. It also matches brilliantly with the music, through the melody but also the accompaniement on fingerstyle acoustic guitar. By the way, you have to know that steel-string acoustic guitar wasn't in use originally in celtic music, as it was invented in the USA in mid-19th century. The only picked string instrument in old times was the celtic harp. In the 60's with hippie and folk singers, and then also in the 70's with the fingerpicking revival on guitar, people naturally realized that steel-string acoustic guitar sounded great and also enabled rich harmonies, especially with open tunings (tunings different from EADGBE standard tuning, DADGAD is the most used in celtic), that could give many possibilities in melody, rhythm, strumming, fingerstyle, going beyond a copy of original harps and dances. Musicians out of folk music, such as Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) who used lots open tunings, also influenced this celtic music renaissance with acoustic guitar. This instrument was the saviour of this music in a way because it is one of the most popular instrument nowdays.
