Butter, soft enough for spreading
4 slices of coarse textured white bread (Pain de campagne would be a good choice)
Around 200g Gruyère cheese
2 slices of honey-roast ham
- Butter the bread on both sides.
- Cover the slices with a layer of Gruyère, then a layer of ham and smear with mustard and cover with another layer of cheese.
- Close your sandwich and grill 2-4 minutes each side until golden and the cheese has melted.
- Cut in half to eat.
