Anglesey Coastal Path: Beaumaris to Penmon

August 2016

Beaumaris, arguably the most charming town on Anglesey was the starting point of our 5 mile walk up to the lighthouse in Penmon. If you haven't visited Beaumaris before, spend some time wandering around the town and of course the atmospheric castle ruins. The castle was built by Edward 1 in 1295 but was never actually completed (simply reason being that he ran out of money).

Then, when you're ready head to the shoreline and pick up the Coastal Walk signs.
Check the weather tide times as well as you could get cut off by the tide, and end up floating out of the Menai Straights! As you can see below, we left it a tad late (my time keeping skills were a little off on that day)

Ooohing and aahing at the pretty beach fronted homes - lucky peeps who live there!
Trwyn Du Lighthouse and Puffin Island

And the most amazing tapas lunch afterwards at The Midland, Beaumaris. I must tell you I had 3 tapas meals that week and this was easily the best. Delicious beyond belief. Oh and see I'm not the only one to say so either!
